Our Therapists

All therapists are trained in our research-supported treatment approach. Our primary Retreat therapists are listed below, including information on areas of expertise, schedule options, cost, and location. 

The total cost of your treatment will vary by which therapist you work with, and how many days your therapy will take.  Therapist fees range from $600/day to $3,000/day. Policies on fees, discounts, cancellations etc. are shown at the bottom of this page.

Ricky Greenwald, PsyD, is the founder and executive director of Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute. He is a leading expert on EMDR, the developer of PC, and the developer of this therapy retreat service.

Jaclyn Bex, PhD, LMFT, is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, is trained in EMDR and PC, and is on the TICTI staff.  She has been working with children, adolescents, and adults since 2010 providing individual, couples, group, and family therapy in the areas of grief, trauma, and infidelity.

Elizabeth Davis, MFA, MS, LCAT, ATR-BC, is a board certified and state licensed art therapist. She is an EMDR Consultant and Instructor, a PC Consultant in Training, and trains other therapists in treating complex trauma. She is the director of TICTI’s first satellite office, in Buffalo, NY. Elizabeth works for TICTI; however, she provides therapy through the independent practice of Ricky Greenwald, PsyD, in NY.

Lindsay Farrar, LMHC, serves as a faculty instructor, consultant, and counselor.  Previous career experiences focused on community programming and education.

Jessica Horder, MS, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years experience counseling individuals and families. She is trained and experienced in EMDR as well as Dialetical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and provides training in DBT. Jessica works for TICTI; however, she provides therapy through the independent practice of Ricky Greenwald, PsyD, in NY.

Kymberly Lasser-Chere, LPCC, RYT-200, served nine years in the military before becoming a Kripalu trained registered yoga teacher as well as a therapist. She is trained and certified in both EMDR and PC. She is the director of TICTI’s satellite office in Northern California.

Jennifer Marchand, CCC, is a Registered Canadian Art Therapist, Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Facilitator, EMDR Consultant, and is trained in PC.  She has worked in a diverse range of international settings and cultural contexts as a clinician, consultant, and trainer.

Marisa Mohrer, LCSW, MPH, has worked in prison reentry, community mental health with adults and as an intensive family therapist. Marisa is training in EMDR and PC, and is on the TI & CTI staff.

Policies

Here are the standard policies regarding cancellations, refunds, etc. These policies balance respect for the therapist’s time with providing flexibility for our clients.

Cancellations

  • within two weeks of the start date: charge of 1/2 day’s fee
  • within one week of the start date: charge of 1 day’s fee
  • within two business days of the start date: charge of 2 days’ fee
  • no-show: charge of 2 days’ fee

Time of cancellation is as of the first business day at 9:00 AM following notification. So, for example:

  • Notification on a Saturday afternoon would count as having occurred the following Monday morning.
  • Notification on Wednesday morning at 8:30 AM would count as having occurred that morning (because notification was before 9:00 AM).
  • Notification on Wednesday at 9:30 AM would count as having occurred the next day, Thursday morning.

Finishing Early

There is a minimum charge of two days. After that, you only pay for time used, in half day increments. For example, if you leave some time in the morning of the third day, you will be charged for 2.5 days.

Discount

We offer a “prompt payment” discount of 10% when full payment is made within 24 hours of the last day of treatment.
