Pandemic Update: We are continuing to offer intensive trauma-focused therapy, either in person or via video-conference (available in many states).
Life’s challenges can be overwhelming, and even traumatizing. We all go through them, and we all need help from time to time. At therapyretreat.org, you will be guided to overcome these challenges and move on to living a happier and fuller life.
Whether caused or worsened by relationship issues, divorce, death of a loved one, critical illness, motor vehicle accident, LGBTQ struggles, bullying, emotional abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse, child abuse, violent crime, military combat or something different, we can help you overcome it and get your life back. We understand how urgent the need for help can be, and we will work with you to begin your healing process as soon as possible.
Our expert therapists are extensively trained, supervised, and experienced in intensive trauma therapy, featuring the most efficient of the proven-effective trauma healing therapies: eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and progressive counting (PC). Our founder and executive director, Ricky Greenwald, PsyD, is a leading expert in EMDR, and the developer of PC as well as our intensive therapy model.
After going through a thorough intake process, if you qualify, you will be matched with a therapist who understands and specializes in helping people with your particular struggle(s). You will then be scheduled for your intensive therapy session, in which you’ll spend full consecutive days with that therapist. You will be the therapist’s only client for the days your session is scheduled for. Our intensive therapy method is proven-successful, and most of our clients accomplish important steps in their healing process within a couple of days to a couple of weeks.

*All therapy is provided through our TherapyRetreat.Org program with the exception of therapy provided to New York clients, which is provided through the independent practice of Ricky Greenwald, PsyD.
Unfortunately, most insurance companies do not cover intensive therapy yet; however, some insurance companies have begun covering it. We are a non-profit organization and as such strive to have low-cost options available. Pricing depends on which therapist is the best fit for you, and number of days needed.
