Get Your Life Back with Intensive Trauma Therapy
Is Intensive Trauma Therapy right for me?
Are there specific events in your past that you just can’t seem to get past? Do you feel angry, anxious, and/or depressed and you don’t know why? Have you spent years in weekly therapy and received little or no relief? At TICTI, we are not just trauma-informed but also trauma-focused. We support people using our intensive trauma therapy model so they can heal from the past. Our clients consistently report positive and lasting results.
Intensive trauma therapy is a multiple-day therapy retreat where clients work one-on-one with their therapist for up to six hours a day, typically for five consecutive days. During these days, the therapist will use research-supported trauma healing techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Progressive Counting (PC), or the Flash Technique interwoven with several other therapeutic modalities, depending on the client’s needs.
Research-backed trauma healing
Our model features the best of the research-supported trauma healing methods:
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing): EMDR is a specialized procedure for resolving trauma or loss memories. It involves the client concentrating on the worst moment of their memory while visually following the therapist’s moving fingers. This process is repeated with different aspects of the memory until no further distress remains.
- PC (Progressive Counting): PC involves having the client visualize a series of progressively longer “movies” of the trauma memory while the therapist counts out loud (first to a count of 10, then 20, then 30, etc.).
- Flash technique: The Flash technique is a recently developed therapy procedure that involves having the client at least partially resolve a traumatic memory without consciously engaging it.

Wondering if intensive trauma therapy is the right fit for you?
Is Intensive trauma therapy safe?
We make sure intensive trauma therapy is the right fit at the right time. Our intake clinicians meet for an hour with potential clients where together they determine if it’s the right time. After the intake, our therapist will recommend what the best next step is. Once accepted into the program, the treatment is tailored to each individual client, and the therapy will safely go at the client’s pace.
Intensive trauma therapy is not for people in an acute crisis situation. In these situations, we will offer guidance as to what the best path forward would be.
Why Choose TICTI?
- TICTI has been an international leader in the trauma world since 2009. Our leadership and training programs have led to the growing popularity of trauma therapy intensives.
- In a randomized study of 96 crime victims treated with either intensive EMDR or intensive progressive counting (PC), participants saw statistically and clinically significant improvements in posttraumatic stress, presenting problems, level of functioning, and quality of life, with large to very large effect sizes maintained at follow-up. The two therapies performed comparably on every outcome.
- We use the most effective and efficient of the research-supported trauma healing methods, including EMDR, Progressive Counting, and Flash technique, as well as attachment work, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and other parts work modalities, art therapy, and more.
- Our founder and executive director, Ricky Greenwald, PsyD, is a leading expert in EMDR and Flash, and the developer of Progressive Counting (PC) as well as our intensive trauma therapy model.
- Consistent with the research findings, our clients report positive and lasting results.
